Solar Shower

by Melissa
(Atlanta, GA)

This year at Bonnaroo (4-day camping and concerts in Tennessee) I supplied our group of 10 people with daily showers at the campsite with my solar shower.

I have an enclosure and 2 solar shower bags, which when filled with 2.5 gals of water and put in the sun for just half hour or so get plenty warm for a shower (warmer after longer if you want a HOT shower).

We refilled with melted cooler water and the water provided down the road for washing.

Each person got clean using just a gallon or so of water - we were careful - but it really made me wonder why we use so much water and power for showers back at the house!

I may set up the shower out back for summer use more often!
